Rigor Mortis!

Report:

Asystole.

Comment:

This is one of several dead patients’ ECGs I encountered during my three years in the United States. Presumably it’s their passion for ‘documentation’ that leads (some) Americans to take ECGs on (some) cadavers, maybe those with insurance cover.

Fractured hips still carry unacceptably high mortality in old ladies. While much of it can be ascribed to age and its comorbidities, delayed repair and inadequate monitoring remain surprisingly common.
