Disappearing P Waves
Report:
Sinus rhythm
Second degree AV block, Möbitz 1
Comment:
The P waves come to be superimposed on T waves as the PR intervals lengthen. Strange to say, this merger of superimposed waves has come to be called fusion by some cardiologists34. The less said about this the better. [!xe "P wave:in tachycardia" \b!]
The pauses are obviously (or perhaps, not so obviously) due to Wenckebach 2o AV block.
The (non infarct-related) LAD artery disease is indicated by the presence of the AV block in the setting of inferior infarction35.
